ARC Review: Evernight (Night Watchmen #2) by Candace Knoebel

Holy hell. This is the best one yet, hands down. It has absolutely EVERYTHING I want, need and expected from Candace – and a bit more. She lived up to my expectations, and then some.

The Watchmen Series starts with Everlasting where we met Faye and her friends. We do see her parents shortly, but only a glimpse before they’re taken away.

Release Day Blitz: Nightmare in Steam by Lexi Ostrow

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 4.42.04 PM

Eliza Kempe Dorley is always left in the background. As a female, being top inventor for the Alliance of Silver and Steam has as many draw backs as perks. She’s in charge of the creation of the many tools the Alliance uses in pursuit of the demons that run lose in the London Underground, which means without her, the demons would be harder to put down. It also means she misses all of the action and has never had the chance to really use any of her inventions.

ARC Review: Betrayed (Breaking the Darkness #2) by Felicia Starr

Kasha is back straight from where we left her; on her way to escape from Ziona and the compound she controlled. Although… getting out just might be the easy part. Seeing her mother with the Taker changed every plan Graven and Kasha made. Now Kasha’s priority is not only to escape, but to get back and free her mother as well.
But things aren’t as they seem to be; while Graven and Kasha is getting closer and closer to each other, someone close to Graven will change the rules and turn their world upside down.

Review: Cogs in Time 2 - anthology from Steamworks Ink

Artwork:

The Eye by Jeff Motsinger. Stranded Wings by Catherine Stovall. Both amazing and very enjoyable.

The Passing of Time by Eada Janes:

Amazing poem from Eada, I truly enjoyed it. The things that we create of cogs and copper, can be the same that destroy us with enough time. Beautiful.

The Bleeding of the Thief by K.C Finn:

Following his greedy heart, a young man goes to Egypt to rob graves, only to find himself in the clutches of a man who sees him nothing more than a simple slave. When he’s being freed by the older woman; Maybelline, he vows to make amends for his past mistakes. Time will tell if he can….
Magnificent story by K.C Finn. I fell into the story fairly quickly and loved the little surprise there was in store for us in the end. Loved it.

Review: A Medium Rare ( The Secret Connection Collection Book 4) by Sinead MacDughlas

Have you read Parting Burden by Sinead yet?
If you have then you will definitely recognize many of the persons in A Medium Rare, especially Cat. If you haven’t, then  welcome to an amazing world. And no. You don’t have to read Parting Burden first to enjoy A Medium Rare, although it does give you something extra to know Cat beforehand. Just saying.

Review: Cake: A Fairytale by Dina Keratsis

Cake reminded me of a modern fairytale in a way. It had all the elements for it; the hero, the girl who might/might not need rescue, the villain, quests to overcome to find your true self, sassy characters, romance….

It was a good story with some really great things in it, and I enjoyed most of it. However there were some things that rubbed me, and to some this might be a bit spoilerish, but here goes.

Author Take Over: La Quette, author of Heart of the Matter

Hello everyone,

My name is LaQuette and I am an author of erotic African American and Interracial Romance.

Before I begin I’d like to thank Sabina for providing me with the opportunity to commandeer her page for a little while so I could share a few things with all of you.

Every story that I have written to date has been born out of the question, “What if?”  Usually inspiration can occur pretty much anywhere.  I will see something that for some strange reason keeps my mind spinning, turning, trying to find out why a thing is or isn’t.  Somewhere in my brain there’s a light bulb that goes off when this entire process begins.  The way in which I make the unknowable understandable is to fashion a story out of some facet of the thing I can’t understand.

Review: Golem in My Glovebox (Monster Haven Series #4) by R.L Naquin

I fell in love with Zoey and Maurice in Monster in my Closet, where she found out that she is an empath and she saved her best friend from being drained by an incubus. Maurice is just Maurice, he’s a wonderful closet monster and I absolutely adore him!

The adventures continued in Pooka in my Pantry, where the Leprechaun mafia moves into town, and the only one who truly can stop them is… You guessed right; Zoey.

This is a short story in Rachel’s wonderful Monster Haven Series. It takes place between book three; Fairies in my Fireplace and book four; Golem in my Glovebox.
